For Swim Teams

Run a swim-a-thon with reviewed lap totals

Volunteers or organizers review each swimmer's completed laps and record the result. Donors pledge per lap, and Stripe securely saves their cards without charging them. After eligible totals are finalized, ScanRaise attempts each capped per-lap charge. Failures remain visible for follow-up.

Sound familiar?

Volunteers counting laps on paper. One person per lane with a clipboard. They lose count. The numbers don't add up. It's chaos.
Pledge math is a nightmare. Johnny swam 42 laps. Grandma pledged $0.50/lap. Uncle Dave pledged $2/lap with a $40 cap. Who owes what?
Chasing payments takes weeks. Paper pledge forms go home. Parents forget. You send reminders. Some never pay. Money left on the table.
Reviewed results still need one reliable home. ScanRaise keeps each recorded lap total beside its fundraiser and pledge status.

How ScanRaise swim-a-thons work

Set your pool length (25m, 25yd, 50m). Create the campaign. Add each swimmer.
Donors visit each swimmer's page and pledge per lap or donate a flat amount.
A volunteer or organizer reviews the completed laps. A watch or pool counter can be used as a reference outside ScanRaise.
The organizer records the reviewed lap total for each swimmer in Athon Manager.
Stripe securely saves each sponsor's card at pledge time without charging it. After the organizer finalizes eligible laps, ScanRaise attempts each final charge, never above the authorized maximum. Failed or authentication-required charges remain visible for follow-up.

Use familiar tools to review the lap count

Pool counter
Volunteer tally
Lane sheet
Phone timer

A pool counter or watch can help a volunteer review the result outside ScanRaise. Where the campaign unit is compatible, Fitbit lets a participant select a day, review that day's daily summary of steps, distance, and active minutes, and choose whether to import it. Fitbit does not supply pool lap totals, so lap campaigns use the organizer-reviewed lap flow.
